“Die Augenzeugen” is a gripping thriller series based on the acclaimed Norwegian format “Øyevitne – Eyewitness.” The story follows two 16-year-old students, Jan and Lukas, who witness a brutal triple homicide in a remote hunting lodge. Out of fear of the perpetrator, they choose to stay silent—a decision that leads to dangerous consequences as the killer begins to hunt down the unknown witnesses.

Directed by Anna-Katharina Maier, the series unfolds as a multi-layered crime drama with strong visual storytelling and emotional depth. Nicolette Krebitz and Lana Cooper star as the investigating detectives, while Lucas Gregorowicz takes on an unexpected and compelling role as the antagonist.

Produced on behalf of ARD Degeto by Bantry Bay Productions in collaboration with ServusTV, the series was filmed in Bavaria and Tyrol during autumn 2022. It premiered in autumn 2023 at the Filmfest Hamburg.
