Project Description

"Almost Fly" is a coming-of-age series set in 1990, following the lives of three teenagers – Walter "W" Schuster (Samuel Benito), Ben Weber (Andrew Porfitz), and Nik Grossmann (Simon Fabian) – living in a small town in West Germany. Their mundane lives take a sudden turn when they are introduced to hip-hop culture through a nearby US Army base. Captivated by this new music, they decide to form their own hip-hop group called "Atomic Trinity" and start rapping in German, as their English skills are limited.

The series explores not only the musical journey of the three friends but also the social and cultural challenges of early 1990s Germany. It touches on themes such as friendship, self-discovery, and the transformative power of music in shaping young identities. The main cast is complemented by Paula Hartmann as Denise Griebnitz, Laurids Schürmann as Alex von Eckstein, and Samy Abdel Fattah as Cengiz Erbil.

"Almost Fly" was created, written, and directed by Florian Gaag. The show received praise for its authentic portrayal of hip-hop culture and was awarded the DAfFNE Prize by the German Television Academy in 2022 for outstanding sound design.

Project Description

"Doppelt kocht besser" is an entertaining cooking show where amateur chefs put their culinary skills to the test — with a unique twist: while one team member cooks live in the studio, the other guides them solely via earpiece. That means one explains, the other cooks — often resulting in chaos, misunderstandings, and a good dose of humor.

In the end, a jury decides which team manages to deliver the best dish despite the communication hurdles. The show thrives on teamwork, communication, and creativity — all wrapped in an engaging format with recipes viewers can try at home. It offers not just cooking inspiration, but is driven by the dynamic interactions between contestants, their personal stories, and the amusing moments that arise from “cooking by instruction.”

"Der Bergdoktor" (The Mountain Doctor) is a German-Austrian television series that has been broadcast on ZDF since February 7, 2008. It is a modern remake of the original series of the same name from the 1990s.

The story follows Dr. Martin Gruber (played by Hans Sigl), a successful surgeon who returns to his hometown of Ellmau, located in the picturesque Tyrolean Alps, after years abroad. Initially, he comes back to celebrate his mother's birthday but is soon confronted with a family tragedy: his sister-in-law Sonja has died in a car accident, and he discovers that her daughter Lilli is, in fact, his own biological child.

This revelation leads Martin to stay in Ellmau, where he takes over the local medical practice from the retiring Dr. Roman Melchinger.

Each episode features emotionally and ethically complex medical cases handled by Dr. Gruber. Alongside his professional challenges, the series delves into his personal life and relationships—with his brother Hans (Heiko Ruprecht), his mother Elisabeth (Monika Baumgartner), and his daughter Lilli (Ronja Forcher).

Blending medical drama with heartfelt family stories and set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Tyrolean mountains, Der Bergdoktor has become a beloved and long-running TV series in the German-speaking world.

The film centers on Gerda Weinberger (played by Gerburg Jahnke), a strong-willed senior who refuses to spend her twilight years in a nursing home. After escaping from a clinic, she returns to her home—only to find Simon Yeboah (Eugene Boateng) there, who planned to use the vacant house for a quiet weekend. Armed with a harpoon, Gerda gives him an ultimatum: either she calls the police, or he becomes her new caregiver. Simon chooses the latter, setting off a chain of chaotic and comedic events.

The situation intensifies when Gerda’s estranged daughter Linda (Isabell Polak) moves into the house due to renovations in her own apartment. Things get even more complicated with the arrival of Linda’s ex-partner Dora (Giulia Goldammer) and their daughter Feli (Muine Keune), who also seek temporary shelter. Meanwhile, Simon faces the threat of deportation to Ghana. Despite all the challenges, the mismatched group slowly forms an unexpected bond and sense of community.

Their work included editing, color grading, and sound design, helping to bring out both the emotional depth and comedic elements of the story.
